Amie Jorgensen

MD, FACOG

Amie (Finkner) Jorgensen was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was raised in Alma and Kearney. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1996. She then attended the University of Nebraska and majored in biology. She was also a member of the Husker track and cross country team. She chose to follow in her grandfather’s (J.R. Finkner) and father’s (J.M. Finkner) footsteps and pursued a career in medicine.

In 2000, she entered The University of Nebraska School of Medicine. The same year she married her high school sweetheart and greatest supporter, Joshua Jorgensen. Dr. Jorgensen chose the field of obstetrics and gynecology after attending a lecture by her future attending and mentor, Dr. Lloyd Holm. She attended Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Once, in training, her grandfather Dr. J.R. Finkner told her that the sound of a newborn baby crying was, “the sweetest sound on God’s green earth”. She couldn’t agree more.

Dr. Jorgensen is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Josh and Amie have four children, Spencer, Chandler, Estelle, and Finnegan. Amie has a passion for running, cooking, gardening, canning, dachshunds and spending time with her family.
